The Sorcerer’s Apprentice Movie Review

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice Movie Review – Nicolas Cage will be playing himself once again in “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.” Not really, but he will be playing a character similar to the one that he always plays. The film which is suitable for both children and adults, but is mostly meant for children.
The first person we run into in the movie is Balthazar, whom cage plays. He is trying to battle Morgana, who is played by Alice Krige. She murdered Merlin, and now Balthazar is after her to make her pay. The movie is filled with tons of great CGI and magical fun that the whole family can enjoy, but don’t expect it to be too plot-oriented.
Eventually Balthazar gets a hold of Merlin’s dragon ring, which will help him to balance out the magical power in the universe. From there, Balthazar continues to battle against the forces of evil. The film has drawn comparisons to the Harry Potter franchise, and for good reason. The similarities between the two are undeniable, although the plot is very much different.
Disney even parody’s themselves in the movie with a throwback mop and broom seen that is very similar to the one from fantasia. It is hard to criticize a film that is very good at what it does; entertaining children. The movie is very well done in that aspect, and surpasses the expectations of most kids. Adults may find it a bit hard to sit through, but ultimately it will more than likely triumph at the box office.
