Kites Movie Review – “Kites” has been welcomed by critical acclaim since making its debut in the Box Office. The movie can be described as a romantic adventure movie, with some comedic elements that are included, but still far from your traditional romantic comedy. The Bollywood movie, which was produced by Rakesh Roahan and directed by Anurag Basu, has been well liked by most moviegoers who have seen the movie. The story calls on a number of famous westerns and musicals in a number of their scenes, so film buffs will certainly appreciate the references that are constantly made throughout the movie to past movies.
The film has two very charismatic actors at the lead of the cast in Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori. They displayed an incredible ability throughout the movie that is not often seen in Bollywood movies. They are able to keep the viewers attention throughout the movie almost effortlessly, and are able to make you forget that you are watching a movie and not watching some real life events unfold in front of your eyes.
Roshan plays a knowledgeable taxi driver in Las Vegas. He is from India, and is pursing the American dream. During the course of his time in Las Vegas, he falls in love with the daughter of a casino owner. Eventually, he falls in love with her stepsister, and the two are forced to run from their past, leaving everything in Las Vegas behind. The plot features one twist and incident after another, and is a very action packed, quickly paced movie that has a lot of thought put into making the events that take place seem as true to real life as possible.

hritick is lovely and action is wonderful although movie ha sbeen made with the americna ausdience in the mind…..so it is like watching english movie and hindi movie which gives a refreshing feel altogether…
rakesh roshan is a smart producer….and he knows what is the public taste…movie has been crafted beautifully and story is lovely…..he has presented the story in a new wrapper which unfolds progressively and enthralls the people…jai ho
I didn’t like the movie much. I couldn’t feel retaining anything after the movie to cherish. Felt cheated!! The movie couldn’t start, it looked every moment that movie is going to start but ended in dramatic turns. Only good thing about movie is screen presence of Barbara and Hritik which I think Anurag has encashed well. Rest all is rubbish. Weak story line and expectation of *something* which never gets fullfilled. The end is very risky attempt. You have to build a strong plot and base inorder to successfully end movie in tragic way which movie fails. I saw everyone leaving the hall smiling and laughing and that’s where movie fails……
great movie…great actors…great direction…luved it..a must watch
I watched the movie in Long Island (New York). I found it one of the best Indian movie ever, although my children were not as thrilled. It is a very unique love story with a tragic end which really touched my heart. It is a MUST see at least once, although I plan to see it again.
Finally A Refreshingly Well-made, Honest Movie!!!
As Indian audience, who watches both Indian as well as International movies, Kites has made us Proud! Hrithik and Barbara are endearing with their honest performance! Without the over dramatization, they have managed to touch the hearts of the audiences! First time have we seen an Indian movie in the Romance genre with such fantastic international standards! Indian film makers have finally created a technically high quality film, which is capable to competing internationally. This is Not another one of those run-off the mill Indian love movies with lovey-dovey songs every 15 minutes & over dramatic emotions from actors.
Hrithik, with the humbleness of his being, is one actor that every Indian loves, and has the looks, glamour and capacity to go international! Barbara has surprised with her acting skills. You will be surprised with this never-seen-before (by Indians) style of film making. Kites is a refreshing change from the other romance movies created in India. You don’t want to miss it! A MUST WATCH for anyone who likes Hrithik; or likes romantic movies; and especially anyone who is fed up of having to put up with un-realistic and over-dramatic song-dance mediocre love stories Indian film directors have passed as art over the years – here is one serious attempt at the art of film-making, and it shines through! Hats off to Basu (Director) and the Roshans.
The movie is not up to the expectations, I like Hrithik action and dance, story line is catchy. Zindagi do pal ki so is so amazing….
Overall the movie is not okey up to the audience mark….
The story line is not strenghty, worthable to watch only 10min dance of Hirthik, I had high expections on this movie but looking at this movie really makes me upset. Music is good.

I just loved this movie…..a beautiful chemistry between the two and def brilliant acting!!!!! Just loved every thing about it!!! and i really hope it does well on the screen….very realistic and some superb action!!
Didn’t liked the movie at all….The only thing i enjoyed wathin is Hrithik & barbara…How cud anybody b entertained after watchin such a irrelevant movie….

after watching this movie i wish i was a kite and i could fly away and pretend that it didnt happen!!!! it was the absolute worst movie i have ever seen in my life!! the acting was garbage.. what a waste of money and time and how can you waste hrithik on a movie like this. I would rather get beat in the head with a hammer for 3 hours than watch this movie. If you hate someone please take them to see kites. Thanks.

very bad movie with horribly week storyline.
My wife made a surprise plan to watch this movie – I agreed to see it, thinking it was a Hollywood release. I have put a stop to seeing Hindi movies since I am tired of the melodrama and cheap “formula-based” approach.
Kites delighted me with its technical brilliance, great acting, and excellent visuals & action. Hritik & Barbara share amazing chemistry on the screen.
Thank god – there were no masala elements (like the ones that spoiled ’3 Idiots’). My only crib is the ending – the second half was quite stretched and there was no need to make it a sad ending.
Would look forward to seeing Hritik & Barbara together again.

garbage movie. whats so great about this barbara mori. she is ugly. there are much better looking indian actresses out there. but as usual we are obsessed with foreigners. typical indian mentality. we are obsessed with these stupid idiots who would strip and do anything for money. Especially Hrithik roshan – His mouth would water when he starts to talk about Mori. Like she is God or something. Such an idiot. Guys like him are meant to live as foreign womens slave. Looser no matter how much money he has. Also this was a terrible movie. no good story line.
